Passions for color and creating joined together to focus Phyllis Dobbs on art and design and resulted in a creative career spanning over 30 years. Phyllis’ art is characterized by a sense of whimsy. She is frequently told that her art makes them smile.

Always keeping her hands busy with crafts, needlework and painting throughout her youth, Phyllis began her professional career designing and publishing counted cross stitch based on her art and sketches. With a family background of quilting from her grandmother and great grandmothers, Phyllis’ next move was designing quilts. She then combined her art and love of textiles into creating art that she licensed for fabric designs for major fabric companies, textile products including bedding and rugs, and giftware.

Phyllis finds inspiration all around her, especially with nature and animals. She believes that each step in a creative journey is important to show your passion and define your style.
